CAPTIVITY & RELEASE

Although we can never take away their wild instincts, cats are (for the most part) our captives.  I do believe they just allow us to keep them captive, though, because of all the PURRks they get.  In fact, I think that they have turned the tables on us -- the captor has actually become the captive one.

Certainly we are their captive audience, and slaves to their every whim.  No wonder they don't want to be 'free'.  Captivity (or 'cativity' as I like to call it) has many more advantages.

The only downside is that hopefully rare occasion when your cat is truly held against their will in some sort of pet carrier -- generally on the way to the vet.  The return home to an uncaged environment is truly a moment of sweet release.

And then there's the other sort of release -- the kind that Wally of "The Island Cats" likes to practise.  This kind of release makes you want to let your cat go free.  However, we keep them because it's a small PURRice to pay for the many pleasures these furry beasts bring to our lives.

Today, we have captured Gracie of "Goodness Gracie" and another Gracie, sister of Brian, from "Brian's Home", as well as Cody of "Cat Chat with Caren and Cody", Archie and Jimmy of "Cat's Cats", Diego of "Rumblebum", Truffle and Brulee of "Sweet Perfections", GJ of "Ginger Jasper", that Wally of "The Island Cats", and Sweet Pea, Rupert as well as that upstart Felix of the "Katnip Lounge".

There's nothing better than being held hostage by a pussycat.  Most catPURRsons happily settle for a life sentence.

Gracie's certainly holding Daddy captive.  Being asleep, he's a real PUSSover!

 Warning:  Anyone disputing Gracie's authority to rule might get HER foot in THEIR mouth!

If anyone's an 'imbecile, it's MR. BISSEL -- that's fur sure!  According to Cody, that is.

I don't think Charles Dickens quite had this in mind when he wrote "Tale of Two Cities"!

Sounds like Rumbles straightened you out, Diego.  It's difficult to see where you're going if you're 'bent'.

Shades of 'Big Brother'!  Truffle is not only being monitored by her Mom's PC, but her real big brother Beignet and sister Sweet Praline are watching over her from the Rainbow Bridge.  No wonder she can rest easy.

Little Brulee is indeed smokin' hot!  This is her debut on the LOLSpot, and she's still at the cattery.  Very soon, though, we can welcome her home.

"Somewhat delusional" is being kind, GJ!  Tell your Mama to read what I wrote in the introduction.  Who's the real captive here?  Really!

 Wally's pooting non-stop!  He's going to wake up "on empty"!

 Rupert's got himself a real bargain, but Sweet Pea's in for a shock when they rip that sticker off her!  What's best -- slow or quick?
